About Te Pae Christchurch
Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre, owned by Rau Paenga Limited (formerly Ōtākaro Limited) on behalf of the New Zealand Government, was gifted its name by Ngāi Tūāhuriri, who are tangata whenua (people of the land) for the area where it is located. “Te Pae” is based on a Māori word with several definitions, including: the horizon, rest, orators’ bench, place of oratory, and place to greet people. Te Pae Christchurch was designed as one of the New Zealand Government’s anchor projects for the rebuild of Christchurch. Visit the website at www.tepae.co.nz.
