The staging of TOS+H EXPO, the first Turkish Occupational Safety + Health Exhibition in Istanbul, achieved very positive results with 3,540 visitors and 90 exhibitors participating.
This event reflected Turkey’s development into an attractive and multi-faceted market for suppliers of protective equipment due to its unusually large labor force and above-average economic growth. Together with the simultaneously held VII, International Occupational Safety Conference, organized by the Turkish Ministry for Labour and Social Security, TOS+H EXPO 2014 provided a comprehensive communication platform for the latest in personal protection and health and safety at the workplace.
“The excellent exhibitor and visitor participation is a clear sign of the growing interest in occupational safety and personal protective equipment in Turkey. With TOS+H EXPO, we and our partners have created a successful entry into a new and extremely interesting future market. We will certainly continue on this path,” stated Werner Matthias Dornscheidt, president and CEO, Messe Düsseldorf.
Messe Düsseldorf also organizes A+A – the leading international trade fair for this sector held every two years in Düsseldorf, Germany. Turkey was the partner country at A+A 2013. Messe Düsseldorf managed TOS+H 2014 together with the local trade fair organizer Tezulas Fuar.
Top international companies, such as uvex, Honeywell, 3M, Werksitz, Bata, Mapa, Innotech and Ansell Healthcare Europe as well as Turkish companies, including Kaya Group, Yakupogullari and Ismont, presented their personal protection products at TOS+H EXPO 2014. The trade fair also received valuable support from TIGIAD – the Turkish Association for Manufacturers of Occupational Safety Products. Several member companies were represented at the event.
The key topic at the VII International Occupational Safety Conference was “The Development of Occupational Health and Safety in Corporations.” Legal reforms, preventative trends and innovations in occupational health and safety management were presented in seminars and lectures.
