Today’s college graduates are concerned with finding the right career path and employment as their graduation date approaches. Because of MG Design’s continued growth, one intern was recently hired as a new graphic designer.
Sarah McGuan was pleased to intern at MG Design while completing her degree at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and was recently hired as a new graphic designer, expanding MG’s creative team.
MG has had an active internship program for nearly a decade, mentoring students from several design and marketing programs.
“MG is committed to our industry and its future,” said Rob Majerowski, CP of creative. “Working with area design schools allows us to spot talent and teach them how to really bring their designs alive in the three-dimensional trade show industry. Through an internship, students can step outside of a classroom into a real-project and we have the opportunity to learn more about potential candidates for our ever-growing design team.”
McGuan also interned at Visit Milwaukee and worked at UW-Whitewater’s student newspaper the Royal Purple while a student. Her graphic design skills have been a great asset to the MG Design team these past several months as MG launched its rebranding campaign in time for EXHIBITOR2012.
At EXHIBITOR2012, MG announced the creation of a new annual scholarship program for exhibit design students in memory of its founder Michael Grivas, a talented designer, industrious entrepreneur and industry visionary. The Michael Grivas Sr. Exhibit Design Excellence Scholarship will be awarded annually to a student studying exhibit design at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution.
The program was started because the MG team believes that attracting and retaining talented design students is essential to fostering continued innovation in the field of exhibit design. The Scholarship program is intended to nurture and encourage the study of exhibit design by talented students who combine their understanding of design principles and technology with a solid marketing and business foundation to create innovative exhibit environments.
