Promoting from within, MG Design, which creates events, exhibits and environments, chose a vice president of marketing.
Leading the team responsible for the firm’s experiential marketing is Ben Olson, who will create internal and external marketing strategies and implement experiential programs for clients as well as MG.
“Ben brings great ideas and exceptional execution to every challenge. Promoting him to this new role is recognition of the strength of his experience and his ability to consistently deliver experiential marketing that really sings,” said John Patten, president, MG Design.
Olson will also work on client projects in addition to marketing the firm’s services, creating programs and helping establish industry giveback programs, such as the Michael Grivas Sr. Exhibit Design Scholarship, which celebrated its first recipients at Exhibitor 2013 in Las Vegas.
Although he joined MG in 2010, Olson spent the past 20-plus years of his career focused on moving the experiential marketing industry forward in his work with many brands. His marketing campaigns have earned client praise and industry accolades in his role at MG as well as when he served as an account director at a global event agency where he was named a “Nine for the Nineties” emerging marketer by the American Marketing Association.
