Explore St. Louis, the official destination marketing organization of St. Louis City and County, announced that Michelle Shockley is the organization’s new national convention sales manager.
Shockley will concentrate on contract management and new business growth in this position, ensuring that Explore St. Louis maintains its upward trend in bringing conventions to the region. Additionally, Shockley will concentrate her efforts on establishing AC Next Gen, the enlargement and improvement of America’s Center, as a premier venue for large-scale national events.
“Getting the opportunity to work at Explore St. Louis and to amplify the city that I love is an extreme honor,” says Shockley. “I look forward to strategizing with our expert team members on how to best position our nationally accredited convention center and introduce planners to everything St. Louis has to offer.”
“With expansion on the horizon, we need Michelle’s sales expertise as St. Louis becomes a stage for national events in the U.S.,” says Kathleen “Kitty” Ratcliffe, President of Explore St. Louis. “Her leadership will provide expert knowledge in the convention services industry, and her vast national network will also elevate America’s Center’s profile.”
Most recently, Shockley was a travel clinic manager at Milan Laser, motivating sales teams across the country. Before sharing her sales knowledge in the luxury aesthetic space, Shockley held leadership positions at Marriott International in San Antonio, New Orleans and St. Louis. Shockley is a graduate of Hickey College.
