Smart City Networks announced Jan. 25 that is has been awarded a five-year contract to continue its role as the exclusive event technology provider at the SMG-managed Greater Columbus Convention Center (GCCC).
“We host hundreds of meeting and events every year, each with their own unique technology needs,” said Craig Liston, SMG regional general manager for the GCCC. “We depend on the excellent customer service and quality technology services provided by Smart City to meet our visitors’ needs. We are very pleases to continue our long-standing partnership.”
Since 2000, Smart City has provided the event technology services to the GCCC. The company also will participate in the renovation of the Battelle Hall into the new Battelle Grand by replacing and upgrading each aspect of the network including a full-binding 802.11 A/B/G/N Wi-Fi system. Key areas of the exhibit halls also will have their network cabling upgraded to deliver more bandwith to the event floor. The Battelle Grand is the largest multi-purpose ballroom in Ohio, featuring 50,000 square feet of main floor space and a 24,000-square-foot mezzanine.
Smart City also provides the convention center with an entry-level wireless service, which can be accessed throughout the convention center.
