Meeting Professionals International (MPI), an association for nearly 20,000 event and meeting professionals, has published its Meetings Outlook, 2015 Spring Edition.
The newest installment of the quarterly special report indicates 2015 is shaping up to be the year of intelligent growth for the meeting and event industry due to continuing periods of stability and moderate economic improvement.
- 74 percent of meeting professionals expect overall business conditions to improve in the near future.
- Location-based functions (specifically, seamless check-in and facilitating attendee networking) are the top components that respondents plan to add to their apps next year.
- A greater percentage of respondents predict an increase in live attendance (60 percent) than virtual attendance (56 percent).

Meetings Outlook is developed in partnership with VISIT DENVER, The Convention & Visitors Bureau, and is supported in partnership with the IMEX Group.
Meetings Outlook presents future industry trends and predictions from MPI members, including meeting professionals on MPI’s Business Research Panel.
Every quarter, research firm Association Insights surveys the panel, asking a short series of quantitative questions related to the economy and a qualitative question regarding the individual’s professional outlook. Phone interviews are also conducted with randomly selected MPI members. The report provides a quarterly tracking of current business conditions and future outlooks.
