NAHB International Builders Show Wraps-up a Successful Show

By Ray Smith, Exhibit City News

The 2024 NAHB International Builders Show, held Feb. 27-29 at Las Vegas Convention Center, wrapped up its biggest show in 15 years, hosting more than 1,800 exhibitors, 120 educational sessions, events and parties, and introducing the latest construction products and techniques.

Celebrating its 80th year, IBS was held in conjunction with the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show as part of Design and Construction Week, with IBS registration allowing access to exhibit floors of both shows.

The mega-event brought together some 117,000 builders, general contractors, remodelers, designers, flooring professionals, sales representatives, architects, distributors and other construction professionals from around the globe.

IBS occupied 678,000 square feet in the North and Central halls of Las Vegas Convention Center, a 12 percent increase from last year.

“The energy and enthusiasm of attendees on the exhibit floor matched the positive feedback we received from our exhibitors,” NAHB Chief Revenue Officer Geoff Cassidy reports. “To help attendees maximize their experience, we organized this year’s exhibit floor into six distinct product segments. Many IBS attendees told us they wanted floor segmentation, so this was a direct result of us listening to their needs.”

Among IBS highlights:

  • Pro Builder Show Village celebrated its 30th year as an IBS exhibitor.
  • Demonstrations in the Construction Performance Zone and Craft Techniques Zone were hot places to gather innovative ideas and information.
  • The New American Home, the official show home for IBS, welcomed thousands of visitors for tours of the innovative, energy-efficient home in the Ascaya community of Henderson, Nev.
  • Five IBS Education Super Sessions and Learning Labs provided lively debates, free-flowing town halls, live demos, and interviews with industry leaders.
  • The exhibit floor popped up all over social media, buzzing with demos, talks, firepits, tequila tasting, snacks and shared fun experiences.
  • The Best of IBS awards were announced with Solstice Shingle by Certain Teed winning Best in Show. TimberHP was named Most Innovative at the Start-Up Zone.
  • Networking and evening social events were jammed with people and fun, like the IBS House Party, the Nationals SM Awards, Best in American Living Awards, and Young Professionals Party.
  • Mat Franco, the first magician to win “America’s Got Talent,” gave the show a magical start during the DCW opening ceremonies. The show closed with a concert sponsored by LG.
  • NAHB members enjoyed exclusive perks at the show’s headquarters with donuts and coffee in the morning, happy hours, giveaways and new members-only area.

IBS returns to Las Vegas Feb. 25-27, 2025. Registration opens Sept. 1. For more information, visit www.nahb.org.
