Nation’s first conference center celebrates 50th anniversary

Celebrating its 50th anniversary is the Tarrytown House Estate and Conference Center in New York’s Hudson Valley.

Recognized officially in 2006 as the nation’s first conference center by the International Association of Conference Centers.

The property was acquired in 1964 by journalist Robert Schwartz, who followed a vision to create the nation’s first executive conference center. The estate itself dates back to 1840.

According to Joseph Santore, general manager, Tarrytown House Estate and Conference Center, the center continues to focus on hosting high level executive meetings, trainings and conferences.

“The entire Estate offers great historical significance to not only Westchester County and the Hudson Valley but to global leadership, business development and continuing professional education,” Santore said.
