The Originators, a New York-based business from two fabric structure veterans, worked with many clients prior to launching this new design company.
Principals of the Originators, Debra Roth, founder of Pink Inc., and Marc Posnock, co-founder of Transformit, are responsible for originating fabric structures in the events industry over 20 years ago.
They created abstract-shaped costumes made of stretch-fabric with dancers performing inside. Their work was also seen in stretch-fabric stage elements that enhanced theatrical experiences and created event environments.
Making a comeback with their business, Roth and Posnock said they are looking forward to their work and making the creative process collaborative, fruitful and satisfying than ever before by integrating traditional design principals with new technologies and the latest trends.
“It may be a bit presumptuous to quote Apple, but The Originators promises to design differently, think differently and help produce events that are different. We want to create the same excitement [like] when we were starting out in the industry,” said Roth. “The Originators will originate again by incorporating what’s new and unique. Our goal is to put creativity in the palm of our clients’ hands and let their imaginations take over as we guide them through a customized, creative process that leads to ‘Wow!’”
Roth isn’t the only one ecstatic about the Originators.
“We’re looking forward to this next chapter of our careers,” said Posnock. “It’s going ‘back to the future’— we’re originating again, creating concepts and event environments that no one has seen. Now we’re progressive, with a broadened palette that’s become sophisticated.”
The Originators are preparing to come to events, experiences or exhibits everywhere. The company provides fabric structures, 3D projections and sculptural forms that incorporate new materials.
