New educational offerings for International PSP Expo

Association of Pool & Spa Professionals [APSP], sponsor of the International Pool | Spa | Patio Expo, is presenting a new line-up of professional certification and comprehensive training courses that will enhance the careers of pool, spa and backyard living professionals.

Attendees seeking to elevate their careers into an elite group of industry experts and to show their pool, spa and backyard living clients they mean business should participate in the APSP educational offerings to achieve the highest industry standards of excellence: CSP, CBP, CST and CHTT Certifications.

The 2014 Int’l Pool | Spa | Patio Expo from Nov. 5-7 and conference from Nov. 2-7 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. features APSP cutting-edge training and educational offerings that cover the most challenging industry issues and offer solutions that can be implemented immediately, saving time, money and headaches.

“If you’re looking for pool and hot tub training that’s hands-on and personal, and taught by seasoned professionals, the APSP educational offerings at Expo are for you,” said Rich Gottwald, CEO and president, APSP. “APSP training and certification help individuals to develop a culture of professional quality. We’re seeing that translate into more sales, giving you the competitive edge.”

APSP Pool & Spa Construction Course (PSCC) is for novice and experienced builders who need to know more about building quality pools and spas; and for experienced pool contractors who want to enhance their technical expertise and build more challenging pools. The course takes you through the APSP Builders Manual and gives key information to conform to industry standards. This course is an excellent preparation for the CBP Certified Building Professional exam (offered on Wednesday, Nov. 5).

The APSP Certified Service Technician Course (CST) is for individuals with at least two years of experience in pool and spa service and repair. Participants will explore key concepts and best practices outlined in the APSP Service Tech Manual with a focus on hydraulics, water quality, and troubleshooting and repair. This course is also highly recommended for those individuals interested in preparing to take the Certified Service Professional Exam (offered on Wednesday, Nov. 5).

APSP Certified Hot Tub Technician Course (CHTT) will focus on the specialized and unique needs of technicians who service and repair different makes and models of portable hot tubs. The course is taught by experienced technicians who can explain the manual content, field questions, and spark discussion among program participants. The manual focuses on key topics, including hot tub installation, structures and finishes, service and maintenance, water chemistry, seasonal care and troubleshooting.

Train the Trainer Course (TTT) is designed to help train people—both employees in the workplace and in conducting training activities in other environments. It is for a subject matter expert who needs to know how to organize what they know for presentation to others, this is a great opportunity to learn to do it right!

APSP Exams
Attendees wanting to achieve the highest level of professional certification in the industry will also have the opportunity to take the CBP, CSP, CST and CHTT Exams at the PSP Expo on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm.
