New event space coming to Amsterdam

On Nov. 4, a new event and conference location will be launched in Amsterdam — ijVENUES.

The location, which offers more than 30,000 square feet of possibilities, is a welcome addition to Amsterdam and in particular to the Eastern Docklands (Oostelijk havengebied).

ijVENUES is an initiative by four inspiring entertainment and hospitality organizations on the shores of the IJ: Bimhuis, Mövenpick Hotel Amsterdam City Centre, Passenger Terminal Amsterdam (PTA) and the Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ. The result is a unique and multifunctional event location, within walking distance from the historical city center. ijVENUES is the first Music & Conference city with its own hotel!

“From our location, it already involved healthy collaboration between the four parties. But the market and our internal organizations signaled, to an increasing extent, that solid collaboration, in the form of a one-stop-shop, would be even more beneficial. The current market benefits from the speed and one central communication point. The organizations benefit from the creation of an effective and efficient working method, which doesn’t require one to constantly reinvent the wheel,” stated Albert Rouwendal, director, Mövenpick Hotel.

The four involved directors will officially open the location on Nov. 4. The location offers room for various types of events from private to business and music events to meetings. With more than 20 meeting rooms, 30000 square feet in surface area, a hotel with 408 rooms and different F&B outlets and catering options, ijVENUES offers guests the best possible experience, overlooking the IJ and within a stone’s throw from Amsterdam Central Station.

The ijVENUES website is still under construction but will be launched officially on Nov. 4. One can book a meeting in ijVENUES from November through the central reservation service: +31 (0)20 8110333 or by way of info@ijvenues.com.
