The Americas Meetings and Events Exhibition (AIBTM) has announced that a new specialty area called Future Events Experience will debut at AIBTM 2012, Reed Travel Exhibitions’ provider for the U.S. meetings, incentive, business travel and events industry. The three-day networking event, held June 19 – 21 in Baltimore, Maryland, will feature a full day of education, followed by two days of exhibitions.
After its successful launch last year at The Global Meetings and Events Exhibition (EIBTM) in Barcelona in front of 15,000 attendees, Future Events Experience will become part of a new feature on the AIBTM show floor. Through a partnership with Newtonstrand Innovations Ltd. and SyncPartners, AIBTM will provide meeting planners with insights on both current and new technologies that are driving the way events are planned for the future.
“After such a successful launch at EIBTM, we are pleased to be introducing this new feature to this year’s AIBTM program,” said Craig Moyes, portfolio director, IBTM Global Events Portfolio, Reed Travel Exhibitions. “This experimental opportunity allows attendees to get inside innovative technology and take one-on-one guided tours in order to gain a better understanding of how to use the tools of the future of meeting planning.”
“Technology is becoming more of a key issue and conversation theme in industry gatherings,” said Shuli Golovinski, CEO, Newtonstrand Innovations Ltd. “This area is a chance for delegates to network, learn about technology industry trends and interact with the latest technology products available. This type of area is essential at events today to allow all delegates to get involved.”
“Our goal is to create a collaborative environment that simulates an event which can then operate as a template for other event organizers to learn from,” said Adi Ben-Nesher, SyncPartners. “We are excited to be introducing AIBTM attendees to this interactive experience this year. Our hope is that through this newly added feature, the future of the meeting and events industry will begin today.”
An additional feature to the Future Events Experience will allow more education opportunities, presentations from the area stage and interviews with experts to be broadcasted on AIBTM’s website, as well as their social media channels. The area will be making use of the Twitter hash tag #AIBTMfuture.
