The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center (NOENMCC) has been honored with the highly coveted New Orleans Top Workplaces 2022 Award by The Times-Picayune | The New Orleans Advocate. This accolade marks the seventh time that the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center has earned this distinction.
The award is given to New Orleans businesses that showcase excellent organizational health, employee engagement, dedication to a people-first culture, and other important tenets of successful business. These metrics are measured solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner, Energage, LLC.
“After every tradeshow and event that we run at our facility, we provide a feedback survey to our external customers, our clients,” said Michael J. Sawaya, Convention Center President. “When those surveys come back to us with effusive praise for our approach to customer service and glowing recognitions of our employees that help conduct world-class events, it is the highest compliment we can receive, and it proves that we are known as a leading-edge organization in the conventions and events industry.”
“Throughout the pandemic, we made significant investments in our people,” Sawaya continued. “Those investments set a foundation for some of the most important upgrades and renovations in the Center’s history. Because of a magnificent group effort between hundreds of our employees, who we consider internal partners in the success of the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, we have recently completed one of the most ambitious energy efficiency projects to ever be done in the gulf coast region.”
The Convention Center also focused on several critical improvements during the pandemic, including the beautification of Convention Center Boulevard, as part of its $557 million, 5-year capital improvement plan. The NOENMCC team worked throughout the pandemic to advance the improvements in order to welcome visitors back into the facility. The diligent work of the employees helps NOENMCC maintain their position as of one of the top meeting destinations in the country, and an outstanding workplace in the New Orleans community.
