Nimlok Michigan, an exclusive and expert Nimlok exhibit and display distributor with offices in Grand Rapids, Mich., and Detroit, Mich., hosted the first annual Shannon E. Benton Be Nice. Memorial golf outing on July 10, 2017 at the Railside Golf Club in Byron Center, Mich. The event benefitted the “Be Nice.” program, a mental health awareness, bullying and suicide prevention initiative that focuses on school-wide change through simple daily actions.
Be nice. is an educational program organized by the Mental Health Foundation of West Michigan, which serves as the go-to source for mental health awareness and education in communities throughout western Michigan. Be nice. focuses on teaching students, staff and parents about mental health illnesses and provides positive “Action Plans” to combat mental health illnesses among teenagers and adolescents.
“Be Nice. is a cause near and dear to Nimlok Michigan, as it has been successfully serving our community for more than a decade,” said Scott Benton, president of Nimlok Michigan. “We were overwhelmed by the generosity of our sponsors and donors and are so pleased to have contributed to such a great cause.”
The Shannon E. Benton Be Nice. Memorial golf outing raised $10,000 for the be nice. program. The event was held in honor of Shannon Benton, wife to Scott Benton, who was a proud and long-time supporter of be nice.
