onPeak's COMPASS Magnet attracts increased hotel bookings

onPeak, the housing partner of event planners, has unveiled a new booking tool called COMPASS Magnet. This user-friendly technology presents a window into live inventory and delivers housing information to event participants in a concise way.

An event’s website is prime real estate to post any travel-related messaging. So to capitalize on the traffic, onPeak created a real-time display of available inventory to be featured on events’ websites. COMPASS Magnet takes the information that visitors want to know and puts it where they’ll see it, providing on-the-fly sorting options. The Magnet attracts users to book in the hotel block and then pulls users directly into the booking process where an online reservation can be completed in less clicks than ever before.

COMPASS Magnet can be stuck on any webpage that the show organizer chooses, including the highly visited travel section. It can also be formatted for surfaces like website homepages, event registration systems, social media websites, blogs, forums and more.

“There is no question that people going to a show want to know instantly where they can stay, and for how much,” explained Michael Howe, president and CFO of onPeak. “COMPASS Magnet presents that information without making users search for it.”

The Magnet is simple to implement; it can live on social media platforms like Facebook. Considering so many planners use social media as an extension of their events, onPeak developed a version of the Magnet to capture bookings right from their Facebook page.

The National Restaurant Association is the first to try out the “Book A Hotel” application for their NRA Show 2011 Facebook fan page.

“Attending the NRA Show is one of the best investments a restaurant or hospitality industry professional can make; and the preferred rates and services, including complimentary amenities we offer through NRA Show Official Housing helps keep costs low,” said David Gilbert, chief operating officer of the National Restaurant Association. “Planning your trip is now even easier and more affordable. Our hotel partner, onPeak’s new COMPASS Magnet, gives our Facebook followers the ability to conveniently book hotels of their choice for the upcoming NRA Show 2011, held May 21 to 24 at Chicago’s McCormick Place, before the room blocks fill up.”

COMPASS Magnet refreshes all its info automatically and, once installed, it requires no manual upkeep.
