PACK EXPO changes dates to sustain exhibitor demand

PMMI, the association for packaging and processing technologies, announced PACK EXPO East 2015 will be held Feb. 16–18 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. PMMI can better meet exhibitor demand by changing to a more rewarding date.

“We expected PACK EXPO East to generate a lot of excitement from exhibitors, but the demand has gone beyond what we hoped for,” said Jim Pittas, vice president of tradeshows, PMMI. “With the show just under a year away, it’s already 40 percent bigger than our original projections. The new dates give us the flexibility to open up more space for exhibitors. Ultimately, the attendees will benefit from having greater access to the technologies they need.”

PACK EXPO East has signed up 250 exhibitors to show the most up-to-date packaging and processing innovations in over 70,000 square feet of exhibit space.

PMMI calculates PACK EXPO East will debut with more than 400 companies exhibiting over 100,000 net square feet next year.

“We’re very excited by the interest exhibitors are showing, and it’s clear that the innovative packaging and processing solutions we’ll see in Philadelphia next year will open up a wealth of possibilities to packaging and processing professionals on the East Coast,” Pittas added.

PMMI announced PACK EXPO East last year and space sales for the inaugural edition began in January 2014. The decision to create an East Coast show came greatly from data generated by a “Voice of the Attendee” survey of PACK EXPO visitors, conducted for PMMI.
