The Palmer Events Center in Austin, TX will host 13 events during the month of October, including the Austin Record Convention, NAVC Vet Tech, the Austin Gem and Mineral Show, and four private events, among others.
On September 30 – October 1, Palmer hosted the Austin Record Convention featuring the largest sale of recorded music in the country. Attendees were able to purchase 78s, 45s, CDs, cassettes, 8-tracks, posters, collectibles all in one place. The event center also hosted Astra: Reality Collapse, with a cutting-edge circus show where feats of acrobatic, dance, and aerial mastery fly around large-scale art.
The Austin Fairytale Ball, on October 1, featured a show full of popular fairytale princesses singing, telling stories, and meeting and greeting guests. Admission was free for children under 12 months.
Coming October 12, the 2023 AAA Trade Show will be held by the Austin Apartment Association. This event provides education and networking opportunities for those in the apartment industry. Less than a week later, NAVC Vet Tech HiVE, on Oct. 16 – 18, will celebrate veterinary nurses and technicians and provide educational opportunities focusing on medical skills, professional development, and more.
The 2023 Austin Gem and Mineral Show will have more than 30 vendors selling gemstones, jewelry, beads, mineral specimens, fossils, crystals, and more from Oct. 20th to the 22nd. During that time, on the 21st, the Texas Roller Derby will bring another bout of banked-track roller derby to the event center, featuring a battle between the Cherry Bombs and the Rhinestones. Also, the Bitchcraft Fair will take place on Oct. 22 with a magical marketplace, wicked workshops, photo booths, trick-or-treating, and more.
Signature Chefs Feeding Motherhood Auction will be on Oct. 26, where talented chefs share their culinary talents, serving dishes inspired by ambassador families that include family recipes, pregnancy cravings, and kids’ favorite meals before guests sit down for a live auction. Funds raised go toward vital initiatives by March of Dimes, including research, advocacy, education, and support of maternal health services.
