Pasadena facility manager hires three employees

Three new employees joined the Pasadena Center Operating Company (PCOC) last month to fill vital roles with the Pasadena Convention and Visitors Bureau (PCVB) and at the Pasadena Convention Center.

Andrew Stucker has joined the PCVB as national sales manager and Agustin “A.C.” Cruz as senior marketing and creative services manager. Katherine Roemer is a new event manager at the Pasadena Convention Center.

Stucker is responsible for identifying, soliciting and successfully contracting conventions, events and meetings within his target market of the East Coast and mid-Atlantic regions of the U.S.

“Andy brings a wealth of knowledge in new business development and valuable experience from working in the hotel industry,” said Jeanne O’Grady, senior director of sales and marketing, Pasadena Center Operating Company.

Stucker most recently was sales manager at the Westin Pasadena, where he managed the association market. Previously, he worked in sales at the Embassy Suites Ontario Airport and Hilton Garden Fontana.

In his role as senior marketing and creative services manager, Cruz manages marketing programs for the Pasadena Convention and Visitors Bureau while supporting the sales and marketing needs of all Pasadena Center Operating Company entities.

“A.C. will play an integral role for the marketing team, designing, managing and executing marketing programs and campaigns,” said Christine Susa, director of marketing and communications, PCOC.

Cruz has extensive experience in the hotel industry, having worked previously as marketing communications manager at the Andaz West Hollywood. While there, he also provided marketing support to Andez hotels in San Diego and Napa. Before joining Andaz Hotels, he was marketing and public relations coordinator at SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills. He also has worked with Passion Fruit Production and Morgans Hotel Group in West Hollywood.

No stranger to event management at the Pasadena Convention Center, Roemer works as a liaison between the Center and event planners to coordinate facility services and event activities under the direction of Naz Sabripour, PCOC director of convention services.

“Katherine previously worked as an intern in the Convention Center’s event management department, where she demonstrated exceptional customer service skills, attention to detail and leadership acumen,” Sabripour said.

Roemer is a recent graduate of the Brigham Young University Marriott School of Management with a Bachelor of Science. At BYU, she served in various management roles with the campus’s chapter of the National Association of College and University Residence Halls, the largest student-run corporation in the world.
