PCMA Education Foundation launches 2011 Silent Auction

The Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) Education Foundation is excited to announce the launch of the 2011 Silent Auction on February 1, 2011. Open to everyone, the 2011 Silent Auction features exciting travel, sports and business packages, among other items. This year, more packages also feature airfare. Bids can be placed online through March 31, 2011, at pcma.org/silentauction.

“The PCMA Silent Auction is not only a fun and exciting opportunity for participants to win some great prizes, but it also is a very important fundraising effort that allows the Foundation to continue its mission,” said David Olender, chair, 2011 PCMA Education Foundation Board of Trustees. “The funds raised from the Silent Auction will enable the Foundation to meet many of its 2011 goals and make a significant difference in our industry through funding scholarships, education and research.”

The auction’s “Buy Now!” feature enables bidders to purchase packages immediately at a designated price.

A sample of 2011 Silent Auction Packages include:

Rock Star Weekend in Austin, TX
This package includes roundtrip airfare for two and hotel for two nights in downtown Austin. VIP access to iconic Austin entertainment venues and a rock star gift bag is also included.

Meet in Jersey City
This package includes overnight accommodations for 10 people for two nights and two days of complimentary meeting space. It also includes a complimentary group breakfast and coffee breaks during the two-day period. A basic A/V package for both days is also included.

Magic in Monte Carlo
This package includes four nights at the Fairmont Monte Carlo, in a deluxe sea-view room, two spa treatments and a one-way helicopter transfer for two.

Visit the Smithsonian
This package includes one night in the Caroline Astor Suite at the St. Regis Washington DC, a private breakfast, complimentary cocktails and a tour of the First Ladies at the Smithsonian exhibit.

Board Meeting in San Francisco
This package includes a two-day board meeting for up to 20 people with a $99 room rate, and a complimentary lunch and coffee break each day. It also includes one dinner at the Urban Tavern private dining room and complimentary limo transfers for four executive officers.
