The Professional Convention Management Association announced that the second European Influencers Summit is planned for Sept. 23-25 in Seville, Spain. The name reflects the seniority of attendees expected to attend the event. Its purpose is to create a Europe-wide “movement” to galvanize the business events industry towards greater engagement around the importance of business events economically, socially and professionally.

The event is scheduled to be held at the Barcelo Sevilla Renacimiento hotel and organizers believe it will attract a larger audience than last year with up to 200 participants expected. It is designed for senior-level association executives, CEOs, corporate leaders and professionals and the program will ask participants to embrace disruption and inspire unconventional thinking. It is also set to focus on the role meetings and events can play as a catalyst for business success and economic prosperity for communities, organizations and individuals alike.

“Whilst we are still a relatively new force in Europe, we are delighted to see the positive response to our leadership here,” says Sherrif Karamat, president and CEO of the PCMA. “This summit enables our senior European industry peers to meet and share the wealth of their experiences as well as learn and be inspired by the program.”

Swedish economist, writer and award-winning public speaker Kjell A. Nordström is set to open the event. He plans to urge participants to think differently about solving challenges and exploring untapped opportunities to help them become the leaders of positive change within their organizations. Other opportunities in the program include looking at how data and analytics can help build brand loyalty and engagement.

In addition, this year the EIS scholarship program supported by the PCMA Education Foundation, will provide complimentary travel, accommodation and event registration for ten carefully selected applicants from across Europe.
