Hyperquake has appointed Jose “Pepe” Gorbea vice president of international growth and development. The position is new and will focus on growing the agency’s international business.
Gorbea is based in Barcelona and brings nearly 30 years of experience in marketing, brand strategy, sustainability, technology, and innovation.
Most recently, he worked at HP, where he served as global head of brands, agencies, and sustainability innovation. Earlier in his career, Gorbea held leadership roles with Bimbo, Kraft Foods, Nestlé, and Mondelez.

Gorbea to support international growth
In his new role, Gorbea will help Hyperquake expand its international client work. He will also support relationships with global brands.
“Pepe and Hyperquake have been working together for some time,” said Colin Crotty, chief executive officer of Hyperquake. “As a critical thinker and problem solver, Pepe has an innate ability to build strategic solutions for the world’s biggest brands and businesses.”
Gorbea said the move builds on his previous work with Hyperquake. In addition, it allows him to continue focusing on human-centered brand strategy.
“Joining Hyperquake is a full circle moment for me,” Gorbea said. “Since I began working early in my career and discovered the power of human-centered creativity, it has always attracted me to do business while doing good for our community.”
Gorbea has also taught at ESADE School of Business. Meanwhile, he has served on industry councils and awards juries focused on marketing and creative work.
