Pigs for the Kids is a nonprofit organization holding annual fund raising events to benefit children’s charities in Las Vegas and surrounding areas. This year’s BBQ festival and competition, taking place on September 17, from noon to 9 p.m. at Craig Ranch Regional Park, benefits the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation, Cure 4 the Kids Foundation, and Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation.
Featuring live music (TBA) throughout the day, a Barbecue Competition (awards will be given in the following categories: ribs, pork shoulder, sauce, beans), a Kid Zone, a Beer Garden and a VIPig area with an open bar and special chef dishes (comes with 10 Piggybucks), all event proceeds will be divided equally amongst the benefitting organizations.
Sponsors, entertainers and volunteers are still needed for ticketing, merchandise sales, event setup and takedown and some creative tasks. If you represent a group who would like to volunteer, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or visit pigsforthekids.org/volunteer.
Craig Ranch Regional Park is located at 628 W. Craig Road, North Las Vegas, NV 89032. Entry is $10 for everyone aged 13 and above (does not include Kids Play area), under 12-years-old are free, and $150 for VIPigs. Piggy bucks will be sold separately that can be used or all food and drink and the kids’ attractions.
