Quirky Weddings returns to Belfast Waterfront for the sixth time

The pairing of Belfast Waterfront Conference and Exhibition Centre, owned and managed by Belfast City Council, and Quirky Weddings proved to be a match made in heaven as the Alternative Wedding Fair returned to the riverside venue for the sixth time.

In early March, 2,200 visitors gathered at the second largest wedding fair in Northern Ireland in search of something unique to mark their big occasion. Gallery areas featuring floor to ceiling windows showcased over 120 handpicked wedding vendors’ wares.

Cate Conway, co-founder of Quirky Weddings, was delighted to bring her Alternative Wedding Fair back to Northern Ireland’s only purpose conference centre.

“Belfast Waterfront is simply the best venue in the city – it’s perfect for us. This large scale venue boasts a wealth of bright open spaces that lend themselves perfectly to our wide range of dynamic exhibits. Large windows create an inviting atmosphere and the building’s contemporary design exudes a timeless elegance that goes hand in hand with our prestigious image,” shared Conway. “And not forgetting all the fantastic support received during the run up and on the day, which was vital to making our event another all-around success.”

Undergoing a 4,000 square-meter expansion project under the European Sustainable Competitiveness Programme for Northern Ireland administered by Tourism Northern Ireland, construction is well underway to a topping off in summer 2015. The first event in the new space is expected to be held at the beginning of May 2016.
