Reed Exhibitions Greater China, the country’s leading events’ organizer, supported the 6th annual International Church of Shanghai (ICS) Charity Golf Tournament last June.
Held at Silport Golf Club in Kunshan, golf enthusiasts faced off for a good cause, with Reed sponsoring the event at the Gold-level. On June 6, participants raised more than RMB 625,000 for underprivileged families.
Reed Exhibitions Greater China President Nat Wong is the chairman of the ICS Charity Committee.
“We readily agreed to support the 6th Annual ICS Charity Golf Tournament Fundraiser because we believe it to be the socially responsible thing to do. Reed holds more shows in Shanghai than anywhere else in China so, in many ways, this city is our home. We consider it a privilege to get involved with charity efforts here,” stated Wong.
The funds generated through the highly competitive, fun-filled, philanthropic effort shall be distributed to recipients by the Changning District Red Cross (part of the Shanghai Red Cross). The donations will reach recipients directly, without deductions for administration. They will be used to aid poor families — some of them with critically ill relatives.
Following the conclusion of the tournament, ICS Charity Committee members joined the Red Cross in a ceremony to hand over the contribution to the District Chief of Changning and accompanied the Red Cross team to the homes of the most critically needful recipients of the donations.
