Reed Exhibitions, an events’ organizer, enrolled 12 participants in the CEM Learning Program. It took advantage of the collaboration between the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) and União Brasileira dos Promotores de Feiras (UBRAFE), translated Brazilian Union of Exhibit Promoters.
“The Brazilian industry is growing, and they are fully committed to supporting efforts to enhance educational opportunities and professionalism,” said David DuBois, CMP, CAE, FASAE, CTA, CEO and president, IAEE. “Reed of Brazil and UBRAFE leadership have been very supportive of launching the CEM program across Brazil. The launch of the CEM Learning Program in Brazil will help IAEE provide tailored industry education and networking that will support the growth of the exhibitions and events industry in Brazil.”
Participants were chosen based on completion of the “Exhibition and Event Sales Fundamentals” and “Event Marketing” modules from Sept. 2-3.
“This has been a great opportunity to fulfill the skills of our talented management in Brazil with the ‘essence’ of the events industry,” said Juan Pablo de Vera, president, Reed Exhibitions Brazil. “In the past, we had been able to recruit local talented people, but the content provided by the CEM Learning Program has helped them discover a new level of professionalism. This is going to be extremely valuable in reinforcing our commitment to local customers and increasing the quality of our ability to offer international standards to our events. Our crew in Brazil is now confident and capable in executing projects with customer focus, clear goals, process, competitiveness and leadership.”
The Certified in Exhibition Management (CEM) designation offers certification for exhibition industry professionals. CEM curricula, a dependable source of specific knowledge for all individuals, emphasize direct application to daily challenges and can be tailored to the individual needs and interests of participants.
Offered in the U.S., Brazil, Canada, China and Korea, the CEM Professional Designation Learning Program is considered an educational program, as well as a certification program, because of the emphasis on practical knowledge. Online and face-to-face courses help meet the needs, individual preferences and time commitments of CEM participants.
