Registration opens for 2015 World Food Travel Summit

A new website and registration opened for the 2015 World Food Travel Summit & Consumer Expo (WFTS), according to organizers World Food Travel Association and Portuguese Culinary Tourism and Economics Association.

The Summit will take place from April 6-11, 2015 in the coastal resort town of Estoril, just outside Lisbon, Portugal. This year’s program has been improved with the addition of SavorSearch, World Food Travel Association’s business-to-business buyer and seller matchmaking appointments.

Social activities are structured to help attendees maximize networking opportunities. An extra bonus is that the European Street Food Festival takes place during the same week, also in Estoril. Finishing the Summit week is the Consumer Food Travel Expo, the world’s only food travel focused exposition for foodie consumers.

The Summit is co-planned by the Association’s Embassy in Portugal, which is offering complimentary two-day Pre-Summit tours that will give delegates the opportunity to “Experience Local Portugal.” These pre-tours are hosted by each of the regional destination marketing organizations in Portugal, and all lodging, meals and sightseeing are paid for by each region.

The 2015 speaker roster is full with food travel pioneers and experts, including for a second time at a World Food Travel Summit, Roads & Kingdoms’ Matt Goulding, who has written extensively about the food travel industry, most notably his TIME magazine article about “Nomanomics.”
