“The new formats we have in place this year with the education sessions and Expo! Expo! are very exciting,” said David DuBois, CMP, CAE, FASAE, CTA, president, IAEE. “We’ve tailored our education offerings and expanded Expo! Expo! to give attendees more flexibility and value for their dollars.”
Taking place Dec. 10-12 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas, Expo! Expo! attendees will meet with more than 200 exhibitors in nearly 38,000 net square feet of exhibit space as they search for products, services and solutions.
Program content will be relevant and customized for attendees, with interactive sessions featuring ideas and encouraging engagement.
Targeted education sessions are broken into four categories:
The Activation Lab
These classes will be focused on using your creativity and will be held in a casual environment to allow you to interact with your colleagues on building creative, funky and trendy ideas. Attendees will leave this room ready to transform new ideas into effective events.
VUCA Leadership Lounge
VUCA is an acronym used to describe or reflect on the Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity of general conditions and situations. It derives from military vocabulary and has been used in emerging ideas in strategic leadership. The sessions held in this lounge are geared toward leadership to help you grow as a professional and will focus on topics that will enhance your overall leadership skills.
Power Panels
These sessions will be led by a panel of speakers, which will allow you to interact with your colleagues and people from different companies to allow attendees to hear directly from their industry peers.
Industry Essentials
These sessions are core skills to help guide you through the need-to-know basics as you advance through your career. They will help guide you to build a strong foundation. The “nuts and bolts” classes will help you develop strong organization skills, engage your team members, develop new technology skills and drive traffic to your events with target marketing.
New features include the gamification of Expo! Expo! through the show’s highly utilized mobile app; the Solutions Center, an exhibitor product demonstration area; a redesigned IAEE Pavilion that will include a presentation theatre; an interactive technology lounge presented by the IAEE Young Professionals; and Booth Love, a best of show design gallery.
