Golf, Community, and a Cause That Matters
The 31st Annual Randy Smith Memorial Golf Classic (RSMGC), better known as “The Big Randy,” returns to Chateau Elan in Braselton, Georgia, on Monday, September 22, 2025. Hosted by the Exhibitor-Appointed Contractor Association (EACA), the event brings the tradeshow industry together to support colleagues facing serious medical or financial challenges.
Honoring This Year’s Recipients
Each year, the event provides direct assistance to individuals and families in the industry. This year’s recipients include:
- Mary Nixon, the wife of Neal Nixon of 2020 Exhibits. Mary is in Stage 5 renal failure due to polycystic kidney disease and is beginning the kidney transplant process. The couple has been together for 41 years.
- Walt Queen, chief executive officer of Queen Exhibits, who passed away in December of 2024. Walt died suddenly from a heart attack after being released from the hospital following a stress test. His loss was deeply felt across the tradeshow community.
“I’ve personally attended 15 times,” says Leonard Metcalf, vice president of logistics at BlueHive Exhibits. “I look forward to The Randy every year. It’s a chance to help someone in the industry who needs a hand. I’ve had friends and coworkers who were recipients, it really makes you think, ‘You never know.’ If you get the chance to attend, I highly recommend it. Like they say, ‘Once you go, then you’ll know.’”

Held in a four-person “Best Ball” format, the tournament is open to all skill levels. Registration is now open, and spots are expected to fill quickly.
