Retail design took center stage at GlobalShop 2014

Show organizers with GlobalShop 2014, the world’s largest annual event for retail design and shopper marketing, reported a largely successful show in terms of attendees and exhibitors. About 12,000 attendees from 64 countries were present for the 2014 show.

Held in Mar. 18-20 in Las Vegas, the show drew many of its attendees from EXHIBITOR 2014, a tradeshow and education conference for tradeshow organizers, held concurrently at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

Among the themes at the show were a proliferation of “faux” and reclaimed materials, in addition to the focus on new store technologies and digital signage. Retailers cited a focus on creating environments that tell their brand stories.

Doug Hope, founder and show director, GlobalShop, stated exhibitors pushed the boundaries of creativity and innovation to bring the cutting edge of retail design to the show.

“More than 90 percent of this country’s retail storefronts are independent retailers. While GlobalShop continues to serve the global retailer as well, it was important to us to create programming that also targets Main Street,” said Hope.
