Sarawak’s boldest campaign to date, Redefining Global Tribes, made an instantaneous favourable impression in its debut to over 400 decision makers from associations, federations and societies at the Association World Congress, Vienna, from the 2nd – 4th May, 2017, at the capital city of Austria.
The visionary campaign, which advocates Business Events as an impactful agent in transforming the global economy, was inspired by the 55th International Congress and Convention Association Congress 2016: Gathering of the Global Tribes when it was successfully hosted in the state of Sarawak in November last year.
Amelia Roziman, chief operating officer of Sarawak Convention Bureau, explained the relevance of Redefining Global Tribes in the association industry. “Just like a tribe, associations – be they professional, scientific, medical or trade – share the same collective power to sustain the community. In a similar manner, business events and associations are not limited by race, languages or location. It is through recognising the key values and synergy we share with our partners, that we are capable to construct a stronger identity for our sector in the global economy.”
The convergence of selected associations leaders and synergistic partners will take place at the Tribal Warrior Challenge, Kuching, Borneo on 19th August 2017.
This specially crafted obstacle course race is the brainchild of SCB and event organizer Borneo Tru Events, and highlights the key values of business events while expecting to attract an additional 4,000 participants from the public.
