SAVOR…Chicago continues sustainability goals under new director

SAVOR…Chicago, the food and beverage provider at McCormick Place, elevated an executive to director of sustainability and special projects.

The company appointed Kevin Jezewski in this role to continue making McCormick Place the most sustainable convention center in America.

“As we integrate new innovative approaches, Kevin’s role is to help us smoothly implement each new sustainability system into our process while we continue to serve nearly 3 million annual visitors to McCormick Place. His focus is to help us stay true to our sustainability initiatives while maintaining an exemplary customer experience,” said Connie Chambers, general manager, SAVOR…Chicago.

Jezewski represented SAVOR…Chicago at the Good Food Festival in 2013. He spoke about SAVOR’s recent Green Seal Certification.

“Kevin has played a major role in our sustainability initiatives and played a vital part in creation of the rooftop garden atop the West Building. This promotion recognizes his commitment to sustainability and charges him with helping to move SAVOR…Chicago’s green initiatives to the next level,” added Chambers.

He was also instrumental in incorporating revolutionary Electric Chemically Activated (ECA) technology that combines salt, water, and electricity into its operations to replace the use of toxic chemicals in ware washing, sanitizing and floor cleaning. SAVOR…Chicago is the first to use ECA technology in a convention center.
