showNets, a provider of custom Internet services for tradeshows and events, became the exclusive provider of networking services at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Pa., on June 29. The Sports & Exhibition Authority of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County, which provides and oversees public venues for its constituents, at the recommendation of its management firm, SMG, have brought a new set of Internet products and services for the exhibitors and attendees at the Convention Center.
Building a completely new wireless experience for the facility, showNets will be tripling the number of access points that will deliver twice the capacity and 10 times the signal effectiveness. All of this operates over a 100 percent Cisco redundant core capable of providing 10-gigabit connectivity. In addition to the physical and logical upgrades, showNets will bring a new kind of capacity upgrade to Pittsburgh – high-density wireless convergence.
