Shreveport CC Launches VenueShield

venueshield logoASM Global, the world’s leading venue management and services company, has created VenueShield, a comprehensive and best-in-class program for event health and safety guidelines. VenueShield’s program is set to launch at more than 325 ASM Global facilities around the world, including the Shreveport Convention Center (pictured above).
The program provides the highest levels of cleanliness and safety, all in partnership with leading medical professionals, industry experts and public health officials. Protocols will vary based on the type of facility and will be customized for each unique location. VenueShield will provide the most advanced hygienic safeguards that serve ASM Global’s clients, guests, staff, teams, talent and all other visitors.
Erika Wysong “We have been an economic engine and trusted member of the Shreveport-Bossier community, and our primary focus is to keep our guests safe and to create new memorable experiences by once again attending events at the Shreveport Convention Center,” says  Erika F. Wysong (pictured right), general manager of Shreveport Convention Center.
To date, COVID-19 has caused 119 conventions, group tours and sporting events to cancel their scheduled events DavidBradley_in Shreveport-Bossier. Combined, these events would have had a direct economic impact of $27.6 million to the community. The majority of these lost conventions would have been hosted at the Shreveport Convention Center.
“Our sales team at the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau and our meeting venue partners are all working diligently to rebook conventions and find new future business during this time,” says David Bradley (pictured left), vice president of sales and services at Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau. “Having safety protocols in place is the first step to gaining our client’s trust that their conventions will be held in a clean environment.”
VenueShield’s health and safety protocols at Shreveport Convention Center include:
  • Hosting virtual site visits and event planning meetings when possible
  • Requiring ASM global staff and meeting attendees to wear face masks
  • Signage and floor decals directing social distancing
  • Placing hand sanitizing stations throughout the facility
  • Advance online, mobile, email and text communication to all staff and guests
  • Directing guests to enter through doors that are either propped open, are automated, manually operated by an employee, or in the absence of those, will have hand sanitizer available
  • Increased frequency of cleaning and disinfecting the meeting space and all high-touch point surfaces including door handles, furnishings, food and beverage areas, restrooms, etc. during the event
  • Self-serve buffets will not be available
  • Requiring all employees to have a temperature check and complete a health screening questionnaire upon arrival to the facility
