Smart City Networks awarded record number of contracts

Smart City Networks, an event technology provider, continued expansion of its nationwide client roster with the addition of 10 contracts in 2014 — a feat that broke records for the company as the largest number of contracts awarded in a single year span.

The provider was awarded exclusive multi-year contracts through a competitive bidding process by five facilities, including Tampa Convention Center, Washington State Convention Center, Fort Worth Convention Center, Anaheim Convention Center and Atlantic City Convention Center. The company also extended five of their existing agreements with Virginia Beach Convention Center, Reno-Sparks Convention Center, Phoenix Convention Center, George R. Brown Convention Center and Los Angeles Convention Center.

“This has been a challenging but fulfilling year for Smart City. Our team members continue to provide incredible customer service, enabling these successful awards and contract extensions,” said Mark Haley, president, Smart City Networks. “I couldn’t be more proud of their work – and we have more on the way!”

Smart City’s commitment to delivering the highest-quality telecommunications services and dedication to the technological advancement of its venue partners has allowed the company to partner with nearly 40 venues nationwide. The company has provided cutting-edge telecommunications technologies for numerous world-class events attended by thousands of people, such as San Diego Comic-Con, multiple Microsoft events, McDonald’s, PAX Prime and IBM.

As well as providing network cabling, high-speed Internet, turnkey data networking services, Wi-Fi and telephone services, the company also helps venues implement technological advancements to meet the needs of any event.

In July, Smart City began construction on a distributed antenna system (DAS) at the Phoenix Convention Center. The DAS will be operational in time for the venue to host the media center for the 2015 NFL championship game, which will serve approximately 5,000 members of the media from 30 countries.

Smart City also provides interactive digital signage solutions. Earlier this year, the technology provider oversaw the launch of a complete digital signage system at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. Smart City markets and sells the system, which can enhance any show with current content such as schedule-at-a-glance, show mapping, logo loops and sponsorship video spots.
