Smart City Networks contracts with Tampa Convention Center

Smart City Networks, an event technology provider, signed an exclusive two-year contract with Florida’s Tampa Convention Center (TCC), providing comprehensive telecommunications and Internet services for international events and tradeshows.

Under the guidance of industry veteran Mitchell Hughes, Smart City will employ a team of dedicated telecommunications professionals at TCC to aid in the delivery of the highest-quality telecommunications services, delivering on the company’s goal of providing technologies that make destinations smarter places to visit, work, live and play.

“We are excited to provide the Tampa Convention Center with the technology needed to take their events to the next level,” said Mark Haley, president, Smart City Networks. “We are committed to working closely with the TCC, ensuring that their guests receive the best in Internet and telecommunication services from our highly experienced top-of-the-line team.”

TCC opened in 1990, and has since been home to a variety of events. The 600,000 square-foot, four-floor facility hosts more than 300 events per year, including the GEOINT Symposium, the nation’s largest annual intelligence event, and METROCON, Florida’s largest anime convention. The venue also received national attention when it served as the media center for the 2012 Republican National Convention.
