Snapshots of Central convention centers

For exhibitors looking to take their work outside of the usual places, several destinations in the Central U.S.  have state-of-the-art convention centers. Although the travelling might require a little more effort, moving a tradeshow to a different and unique convention center opens up the exhibiting process to a world of new possibilities.

Colorado Convention CenterColorado Convention Center – Denver, Colo.
The Colorado Convention Center, located in the heart of Denver, hosts over 400 events every year and hosts 2.2 million square feet of exhibit space.

The Center boasts 584,000 square feet on just one level, 63 meeting rooms on another level, 35,000-square-foot and 50,000-square-foot ballrooms, as well as a theatre with 5,000 seats.

Among the amenities at the Colorado Convention Center are several sustainability initiatives, including LEED-certified services, energy and waste reduction and alternative transportation options.

Overland Park Convention Center – Overland Park, KansasOverland Park Convention Center
With over 150,000 square feet of exhibit space, the Overland Park Convention Center, located in Overland Park, Kansas, offers much more than the average convention center. The facility, which is within reach from the Kansas City International Airport, also offers custom menus, in-house AV equipment and a vast selection of rentable equipment.

The 60,000 square-foot exhibit hall can be split into two smaller halls. Additionally, there is a 25,000 square-foot ballroom that can be split into four rooms. Both the exhibit hall and ballroom can be connected to provide 86,000 square feet of exhibit space.

The facility also hosts several meeting rooms, a climate-controlled walkway and a banquet space.

Cox Convention CenterCox Convention Center – Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the Cox Convention Center is a massive facility with more than 1 million square feet of flexible space. The Center spans four city blocks in the middle of Oklahoma City.

The venue boasts over 100,000 square feet of exhibit space, a 25,000 square-foot ballroom, 21 meeting rooms and a 15,000-seat arena. Among the amenities at the Cox Convention Center are state-of-the-art AV and technical services, as well as a full restaurant and several concession services.

 

Austin Convention Center – Austin, TexasAustin Convention Center
The Austin Convention Center, which stretches over six blocks and 881,000 square feet of space, is constructed of materials native to Texas, including limestone and granite.

The Center boasts over 245,000 square feet of open exhibit space, which can be split into five different halls. The ballrooms range in size from 43,000 square feet to 23,000 square feet. There are also 54 meeting rooms throughout the Convention Center’s four levels.

As for the amenities at the Austin Convention Center, complimentary Wi-fi access is provided, as well as an array of updated technical communication services.

Statehouse Convention CenterStatehouse Convention Center – Little Rock, Arkansas
The Statehouse Convention Center, located in Little Rock, Ark., is a large facility connected to the Peabody Hotel. The Statehouse Convention Center offers over 82,000 square feet of exhibit space that can be divided into four separate halls.

The ballroom, which holds over 18,000 square feet of space, can be divided into three different areas, making it a versatile arrangement for meetings. The Center also has multi-use foyers for pre-event gatherings and cocktail receptions.

With an over 220,000 square feet of meeting space, the Statehouse Convention Center also offers state-of-the-art amenities, including AV and light services as well as local decorators.
