Snapshots of Southeast convention centers

For exhibitors looking to take their work outside of the usual places, several destinations in the Southeast U.S. have state-of-the-art convention centers. Although the travelling might require a little more effort, moving a tradeshow to a different and unique convention center opens up the exhibiting process to a world of new possibilities.

BirminghamBirmingham Jefferson Convention Complex
Located in Birmingham, Ala., the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex houses plenty of room for tradeshows and live events of all kind. The East exhibition hall is the largest on the property with over 95,000 square feet of exhibit space.

Also offered at the Convention Complex is a theatre, concert arena, several smaller meeting rooms and a large ballroom. Overall, the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex has 220,000 square feet of exhibit space.

Services at the Convention Complex include A/V and telecommunication products.

Orange County Convention CenterOrange County
Right in the heart of the Orange County, Fla., tourism district is the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC). This facility’s North/South building offers over 950,000 square feet of exhibit space. This includes 25 meeting rooms and 94 breakouts.

The West building of OCCC, which is connected to the North/South building via pedestrian bridge, boasts 1.1 million square feet of tradeshow space. This part of the facility also includes the Chapin Theater, a 2,600 seat area.

Charleston

Charleston Civic Center
In Charleston, W.Va., the Charleston Civic Center offers over 80,000 square feet of exhibit space. The Grand Hall alone has over 50,000 square feet of space and can hold 256 10-by-10 booths.

Both the North and South hall boast 19,285 square feet of space, but the Charleston Civic Center offers smaller meeting rooms as well.

Located on the property are at least 20 other meeting rooms, some of which can be combined to create larger spaces.

 

Nashville Convention CenterNashville
To many, Nashville is considered the heart of Tennessee. It’s no surprise that the NashvilleConvention Center can provide over 118,000 square feet of exhibit space.

The Center is located eight miles away from the airport and is placed at the intersection of three major highways.

In its three floors, the Nashville Convention Center can provide over 20 meeting rooms, a large lobby, and three separate exhibit halls that can be combined.

Georgia

Georgia International Convention Center
Just 10 minutes from downtown Atlanta, Ga., is the Georgia International Convention Center (GICC). The large facility boasts over 400,000 square feet of flexible exhibit and meeting space.

The GICC offers four exhibit halls, each comprised of 37,800 square feet, that can be combined into one large space. The property is also home to several meeting rooms as well as a grand ballroom.
