Cape Town Tourism welcomed news that the introduction of strict new laws for traveling to and from South Africa with children has been postponed until June 1, 2015.
South Africa’s Department of Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba shared this decision.
“Minister Gigaba has heard the plight of the tourism industry and is prepared to work with us on minimizing the impact that some of the more far-reaching changes are poised to have. We welcome news of a task-team and believe that a clear, open and honest approach – with input from all areas – is the only way forward,” commented Enver Duminy, CEO, Cape Town Tourism.
Duminy said that Cape Town Tourism is also working with partners, such as FEDHASA, WESGRO, SATSA and The City of Cape Town to create a clear and wide-reaching communication campaign to bring the facts to all potential travelers who may have to apply for new documents or in new ways in order to travel to South Africa.
