Steelhead Productions’ Grand Opening Showcases New Facility, Sustainable Innovation, and Community Commitment in Las Vegas
by Mark Hebert, Exhibit City News
Steelhead Productions recently opened its new Las Vegas facility at 7120 S Buffalo Dr., Suite 100, with a grand opening event attended by approximately 200 clients, partners, and community members on Thursday, November 7. This move marks the third time Steelhead has expanded its space in Las Vegas, driven by continued growth and a need for increased operational capacity since its founding in 1996.
The 117,000-square-foot facility offers a range of new capabilities, which attendees explored through guided tours led by members of Steelhead’s team, including John Mullen from the sales department. During the tours, Mullen highlighted key features of the space, including the expanded inventory, an emphasis on sustainable materials, and employee-focused office areas.
“This facility marks Steelhead’s eighth home in our 29-year history. While we work to design and build great solutions for our customers within these walls, we create lasting memories while doing it. We are so grateful to the Steelheaders, friends, family, and our partners for joining us tonight for what is certainly a moment we won’t forget. Thank you all for being here,” said Sean C. Combs, CEO of Steelhead Productions.
Facility Features and Sustainability Efforts
The new facility has been designed with flexibility in mind. For clients seeking to customize their exhibit designs, Steelhead provides a touchscreen system where visitors can mix and match booth elements according to their needs. Mullen introduced the audience to Steelhead’s modular design approach, which uses a matrix-grade system—durable and reusable materials that can be packed away and reconfigured for future projects. According to Mullen, this matrix system not only allows for adaptable booth designs but also contributes to Steelhead’s goal of minimizing waste.
As Mullen guided guests through the fabrication area, he emphasized Steelhead’s commitment to producing quality work onsite, noting that approximately 90 percent of all fabrication is done in-house. The space includes dedicated areas for metalworking, with specialized tools and workstations for custom jobs. In keeping with the company’s sustainability focus, modular pieces are stored on racks in the warehouse area, reducing the need for single-use materials.
A Focus on Team Development and Client Engagement
In addition to its fabrication and inventory areas, the new space has several rooms dedicated to client engagement and employee development. Mullen showed visitors the soundproof booths available for client meetings and project consultations, designed to offer privacy and a quiet environment. The facility also includes metric displays that showcase real-time data, such as current client projects and weekly discovery calls. These displays are intended to keep teams informed and aligned on active goals.
One unique feature, inspired by “love lock” bridges seen in major cities, is a wall where each new client relationship is symbolized by a lock added to a fence. This visual display serves as a reminder of the value of client partnerships.
A designated classroom space within the facility supports Steelhead’s commitment to continuous employee development. The space is used for professional and personal growth sessions, including monthly workshops with wellness and financial coaches. The company also has an on-site library, featuring books on topics related to the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS), which Steelhead has used since 2017.
Keynote from Leadership Coach Renie Cavallari
As part of the event, keynote speaker Renie Cavallari, a leadership coach and best-selling author, presented insights from her book HEADTRASH: The Leading Killer of Human Potential. Her speech addressed how overcoming self-doubt and “HeadTrash” can improve focus, reduce stress, and support team alignment. Cavallari’s practical advice aligned with Steelhead’s own emphasis on fostering a positive and growth-focused workplace culture.
Community Engagement through the Gift Happy Foundation
Steelhead also highlighted its community involvement through the Give Happy Foundation. Originally started as an employee committee, the foundation has grown into a formal charity focused on supporting the environment, the arts and community development. According to foundation leaders, the charity’s mission is to inspire for-profit businesses to prioritize positive social impact. In addition to inspiring involvement, the charity hosts fundraising opportunities throughout the year to help make giving back simple.
The event also featured live, custom artwork from Pretty Done, a creative art brand known for its vibrant, freestyle pop art. Specializing in abstract designs with bold lines and inventive color combinations, Pretty Done brings hand-drawn characters, unique fonts, and intricate patterns to life across diverse mediums, from canvas and clothing to street murals and immersive room designs. Attendees had the chance to see Pretty Done’s artistic process up close, adding a memorable, personalized element to the celebration.
The grand opening event included a selection of local food vendors—Vitos Tacos, Attack on Rice, and Fast Eddie’s Burgers —providing refreshments for attendees as they networked, toured the facility, and learned more about Steelhead’s work and future plans. Steelhead’s new space underscores its ongoing commitment to innovation, sustainability, and community impact in the exhibit industry.
