Surtex, the annual tradeshow for the surface design industry, welcomes exhibitors and attendees to its opening night cruise on May 18 of this year. The leading tradeshow for the art and design market will host designers, art buyers and licensees on the four-deck Cornucopia Destiny yacht for an evening of casual networking and sightseeing.
“The yacht party gives market participants an extraordinary chance to unwind and in an informal and uniquely New York City setting,” said Penny Sikalis, GLM Vice President and SURTEX show manager.
Cruising around Manhattan on the Hudson River, attendees will capture views of the New York City skyline, New York Harbor and the historic Statue of Liberty. Guests will be able to indulge in hors d’oeuvres and a full buffet dinner; an open bar, two dance floors and a DJ will also be provided.
Near the Jacob J. Javits Convention Center, the chartered yacht departs from Pier 81, 42nd Street and 12th Avenue. The cruise will leave at about 6:30 p.m. and return at 9:00 p.m. The advance rate is $85 per person through May 1 and standard rate is $100 thereafter. Tickets are available online at surtex.com as well as onsite at any SURTEX registration terminal pending availability.
