Tailgate, Backyard and BBQ Area Fun at the National Hardware Show May 9-11 in Las Vegas

There’s so much for attendees to experience at the 2017 National Hardware Show—that’s clear from the moment you step foot inside the Las Vegas Convention Center for the world’s largest gathering of home improvement retailers, Tuesday, May 9 through Thursday, May 11.

Make sure you set aside some time outside of the convention center for Tailgate, Backyard & BBQ, located in the Silver Parking Lot, where you’ll see all this growing area has to offer.

“Tailgate, Backyard & BBQ has been growing consistently over the last several years and since its inception in 2010, it’s been one of the most popular areas,” says Rich Russo, vice president of the National Hardware Show. “It continues to grow in popularity year after year, so we’ve added more vendors and events than ever before. It’s exciting for attendees to see the products in the outdoor environment they’re meant for, and there’s plenty of networking opportunities offered outside throughout the Show. This is an area no attendee should miss.”

Fire Disc Grills is a key sponsor of the Cooking Zone—where many exhibitors showcase their products as they cook samples throughout the Show. Traeger Wood Fire Grills will be doing a “bar takeover,” offering a complimentary smoked lemonade cocktail during both the Retailer Happy Hour (3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Tuesday, May 9) and the Annual Tailgate, Backyard & BBQ Party (4:30 pm to 6:30 pm on Wednesday, May 10). Traeger will be giving out drink tickets at their booth, #Outdoor 104, before both parties. While Supplies Last.

Other features of this area include shuttle drop–off in the morning from local hotels both Tuesday, May 9, and Wednesday, May 10, as well as a free breakfast (first–come, first–served) both days. Outdoor covered seating is available throughout all three days of the Show with food trucks that include a wide variety of fare parked in the Silver Lot including Big Daddy’s BBQ, back again this year. The Tailgate, Backyard & BBQ area will also be home to two NHS Chill Out Zones—these are trailers on the perimeter that give attendees the opportunity to cool down and rest their feet for a bit.

For a full list of the food trucks and their locations, download the NHS Mobile App.

At the Retailer Happy Hour, free Budweiser and Bud Light is available for all retailers who attend! Drink tickets will be distributed throughout the Show floor earlier that day as well as a cash bar available for other refreshments.

This year’s Annual Tailgate, Backyard & BBQ party is going Hawaiian style! There will be Hawaiian dancers and music playing in the convention center lobby before the party to excite the crowds as well as free giveaways as attendees make their way outside. Find a pig roast at the Traeger booth as well as additional free food samplings from other exhibitors, a beer trailer with free Budweiser and Bud Light for all (along with a cash bar for other beverages) and live music from the Morrison Brothers Band.

Other vendors will offer their own in-booth events and Show specials, including the following:
