Teamwork Installation Specialists recently promoted Antonio Teixeira to be the Northeast Director of Operations.
It’s intriguing the way some people start at a company, and how they travel their pathway to success. In this case, it was because of a record snow storm, at a time one man was looking for work. The blizzard of 2010 was one of the worst storms in Massachusetts history; news videos showed downed wires, downed trees, and collapsed roofs throughout the south shore. Teamwork contacted companies with flat roofs and offered to shovel snow, hopefully before the roofs collapsed. The response was overwhelming: myriad companies needed help; and Teamwork suddenly needed more people.
Antonio Teixeira’s first job with Teamwork was shoveling snow. He quickly became a crew supervisor. Then he was offered work as part of a team installing small retail jobs. Within six months — due to his personality, his attention to detail, his flexibility, his talent, and his willingness to go above and beyond and do whatever it takes — he was leading crews of two, and then as many as eight people. He began renovating Rite Aid stores – from fixtures and millwork, to full remodels – and started the life of a road warrior: one week it might be Maine; a few weeks later, it might be a store in California.
Supervisory work in New York City
During the few slow periods, there was trade show work — in Boston, Providence, and Las Vegas. Then there was supervisory work in New York City, changing out flagship stores every month. As many road warriors know, continuous life on the road can lead to excess, and ultimately to burnout. By 2018, he had an epiphany, and decided to stop traveling, help himself, and then help others. He moved into estimating and project management. Today, while his title says “Northeast” he coordinates and oversees projects from Maine to Florida.
