Thailand Tourism Partners with Japan Airlines

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Los Angeles office launched a new marketing partnership with Japan Airlines. This will mark the first major national marketing campaign with an airline for Thailand in the United States since the pandemic began last year. Thailand’s tourism industry attracted more than 1.1 million U.S. visitors in 2019, and the country is eager to once again open its doors to the American market.

Seeharach Siriwan“We’re expecting our new marketing partnership with Japan Airlines to generate a renewed level of interest in Thailand as a coveted travel destination,” says Siriwan Seeharach (pictured left), director of the TAT Los Angeles office. “We’re also excited for travelers to start their Thailand luxury journey with one of the best airlines in the world. With the recent recognition of Amazing Thailand’s Safety and Health Administration (SHA) to be on par with WTTC SafeTravelers global health and hygiene standardized protocol and Japan Airlines’ recent certification with the highest 5-Star COVID-19 Airline Safety Certification by Skytrax, we feel confident that travelers will trust in our safety measures and book Thailand for their next vacation.”

Travelers can book exclusive Thailand luxury air and hotel vacation packages from Japan Airlines’ dedicated website at www.jal.co.jp/ar/en/thai until September 30. Japan Airlines, which has been recognized as a Skytrax 5-Star airline for the second consecutive year, has one of the strongest networks from the U.S. to Asia, with weekly flights from 11 U.S. gateways.

Steve Myer“Aside from JapanThailand is among our top destinations for travelers on Japan Airlines,” says Steve Myer (pictured right), regional vice president global sales, The Americas for Japan Airlines. “We are delighted to be working in partnership with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to create new luxury air and hotel packages that include a variety of special experiences and benefits.”

The exclusive packages will also feature hotel stays at iconic Bangkok hotels and resorts, The Siam and The Peninsula Bangkok. Both luxury resorts have implemented strict COVID-19 protocols for the safety of visitors and are eager to welcome guests back to discover the wonders of the country in five-star style. The Siam features a private urban sanctuary awash with luxurious amenities, exquisite art and multiple acres of lush gardens on the Chao Phraya River. Meanwhile, The Peninsula Bangkok offers a culmination of glamor, tradition, service and innovation set against Bangkok’s historical and cultural attractions.

The partnership between TAT and Japan Airlines will allow consumers not only to access exclusive packages, but also look forward to a safe return to international travel. As vaccination rollout continues and restrictions loosen, safety measures continue to be a top priority for each partner. The exclusive travel offers will first be promoted in the May/June 2021 issue of Departures magazine, distributed to 1.6 million American Express Platinum Card® and Centurion® cardmembers.
