United Nations’ tourism conference scheduled for Korea

Korea is to host the 2nd United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Euro-Asian Mountain Resorts Conference from Oct. 14-16.

The conference brings together some 300 global experts on mountain-based hospitality facilities. It takes place at the Lotte Hotel Ulsan, a city in Korea’s southeast.

ECN 092015_INT_United Nations’ tourism conference scheduled for Korea_UNWTO-logoUnder the title “Paving the Way toward a Bright Future for Mountain Destinations,” international experts will discuss current and future challenges, illustrate success stories and create a platform for exchange of innovative initiatives within the field of mountain resorts. Participants will include local authorities, government officials, DMOs, private sector representatives, infrastructure providers and academia, UNWTO members and World Alps Cities representatives.

The conference will be organized by the United Nations World Tourism Organization. It is being co-hosted by the Korea Tourism Organization and Ulsan Metropolitan City, with national government support.

Scheduled events will be conducted in English and French, with interpretation services provided in Korean, Chinese, and Japanese during the opening and closing ceremonies as well as the sessions.
