Virginia’s Blackburn Inn Appoints New General Manager

The Blackburn Inn, a boutique hotel in the historic downtown Staunton, Virginia, neighborhood, welcomes Lacy Peterson as its new general manager; she will lead the day-to-day operations of the 49-room luxury boutique hotel to ensure a unique travel experience for each guest.

Peterson is a Wyoming native who brings more than 15 years of experience as a hospitality professional to The Blackburn Inn. She has contributed to the success of properties in both Wyoming and Virginia. Peterson earned a Business Management degree from the University of Wyoming and began her hospitality career at the Laramie Travel Center. Most recently, she served as the director of rooms for the Oakhurst Inn in Charlottesville, Va., where she led hospitality efforts to increase hotel profitability and improve consumer satisfaction. In her new role as the general manager for The Blackburn Inn, Peterson oversees day-to-day operations and works to provide an incomparable experience for all guests.

Peterson is a well-versed hospitality professional and business owner who enjoys traveling and immersing herself in each destination’s historic background. The Blackburn Inn was originally designed in 1828 and is housed in a historic, Jeffersonian-style building offering a destination that entices both leisure and business travelers alike. The historic property merges its original architecture and notable design with state-of-the-art service to present guests with a truly indulgent experience.

The Blackburn Inn, designed by Thomas Blackburn, is a luxury boutique hotel that opened in late spring 2018 on a vast 80-acre property in Staunton, Va. The 49-guest room hotel features contemporary design details that complement the historic surroundings. A private entrance takes guests up to the property’s large wraparound front porch that hosts a café bistro serving light bites, tea and wine. The Blackburn Inn is the first hotel in Staunton to open under the development group, The Blackburn Inn, LLC that is based in Richmond, Va.
