VisitPittsburgh, the official tourism promotion agency for Pittsburgh and Allegheny County, has hired a Pittsburgh native as its new director of convention sales.
Angela K. Corvello began her new position at VisitPittsburgh on Aug. 20 and will assist the vice president of convention sales in managing the sales team responsible for Pittsburgh and the entire Allegheny County area. Corvello also will handle a convention sales market, bringing future meetings to the Pittsburgh area.
Corvello has worked in the hospitality industry for 20 years and has extensive sales experience. She most recently was director of sales and marketing for the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown, which is the largest hotel in Pittsburgh. Other recent positions Corvello held include director of sales and marketing at the Radisson Hotel-Pittsburgh, director of sales and marketing at the Clarion Hotel and Suites in Las Vegas, director of sales marketing and revenue management at the Crowne Plaza and St. Tropez hotels in Las Vegas and was the director of sales and marketing at the Hilton Hotel in Newark, N.J.
Corvello has won a number of sales awards for her commitment and dedication to the hospitality industry. As the director of sales and marketing for Vista Host Hotel Management, she received the Tarsadia Hotels’ “Top Gun” award designating her as the firm’s top sales associate for nearly doubling her sales goal. A native of Pittsburgh, Corvello is an alumnus of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in communications.
