VisitPittsburgh names new executive VP, among others

VisitPittsburgh, the official tourism promotion agency for Pittsburgh and Allegheny County, recently made several personnel announcements.

Jason Fulvi

Jason Fulvi was promoted from executive director of convention sales to executive vice president. Fulvi is a Certified Destination Marketing Executive (CDME) who oversees VisitPittsburgh’s Convention Sales, Convention Services and Partnership Development Departments.

 

In addition, Fulvi is also responsible for day-to-day operations of VisitPittsburgh in the absence of Craig T. Davis, CDME, president and CEO of VisitPittsburgh.. A graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management, Fulvi joined VisitPittsburgh in 2002 as senior national sales director and quickly advanced to executive director of convention sales. His background includes more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Jason recently completed his second term as Chair of the Destination Marketing Association International Sales and Marketing Committee and currently serves as a committee member for the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.

Karl Pietrzak

Karl Pietrzak

Karl Pietrzak was promoted to vice president of convention sales. He is responsible for the strategic managementof VisitPittsburgh’s successful Convention Sales team. Pietrzak joined VisitPittsburgh in 2003 as a national sales director and was named senior national sales director in 2007. Karl is a member of Destination Marketing Association International and is pursuing the Certified Destination Marketing Executive credential.

Connie George recently joined VisitPittsburgh as vice president of communications. Connie is responsible for strategically planning and executing of all internal and external communication programs that support and enhance VisitPittsburgh’s sales and marketing efforts. Most recently, George was director of marketing and public relations for the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium. She is on the board of directors for the Women’s Press Club and the Western Pennsylvania Human Society. She also serves on the advisory committees for the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust and Achieva and is an active member of the Public Relations Society of America.
