Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club promotes employee to conference services manager

 

Officials at Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club, a hotel on the campus of Duke University, named a conference services manager.

ecn_072013_pom_bethany_butti_conference_services_manager_wdigcMonitoring guests and meeting planners’ satisfaction, Bethany Butti will also be responsible for coordinating conferences, meetings, incentive trips and corporate getaways at the Inn’s executive conference center. She will handle room logistics, dining, special catered events, audiovisual and technology needs as well as off-site activities and other special meeting service requests.

Butti previously worked as the assistant banquet manager after being promoted from restaurant manager, a position she served from 2006 through 2012.  Her duties included arranging various dining venues for private celebrations, company events and receptions as well as managing restaurant staff, inventory and reservations. She started with the Inn in 2005 in a year-long manager-in-training role where she learned the operations of all departments while rotating through various managerial capacities.

Bringing a wealth of restaurant experience to the Inn, Butti’s former positions include service at the Sagebrush Steakhouse in Brevard, N.C., The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa on Hilton Head Island, S.C., the Mountain Tech Lodge at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College and the Billy Graham Training Center at the Cove, both in Asheville, N.C.

Butti received an Associate of Applied Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College in Asheville, N.C., attended Southern Wesleyan University in Central S.C. and is also a certified pharmacy technician.
