When EPEAK Studios began looking to create a AVoIP setup for small conferences in their events services, Netgear was a logical choice for a partner. AV over IP is audio, visual, and control signals sent over internet protocol networks rather than analog XLR and digital SDI cables; to oversimplify, using ethernet cable and WAN, LAN or other IP networks. This reduces cost and the chunky, clunky equipment reliance and disruption typical to events using such service. And Netgear is a leader in such reduction.
Net gear
“Netgear has been at the forefront of developing this type of technology to ensure high-speed, reliable performance for audio and video applications,” John Henkel, director of SMB Marketing for Netgear, said in an email Q&A with Exhibit City News. “In exchange for us supplying the switches, they would create some marketing collateral for us, including a video and white paper.” Marketing is another one of the services EPEAK Studios provides, and Netgear is a provider in network services and networking products. A perfect exchange.
“Netgear’s portfolio includes a line of AV switches (NETGEAR AV), that are designed to provide high-speed, reliable performance for audio and video applications,” Henkel said. “Switches are used in professional video and audio installations, like recording studios, broadcast facilities, and conference rooms. They make it possible to transmit high-quality audio and video signals and help manage and prioritize network traffic. Essentially, Netgear’s AV switches ensure smooth audio and video streams without interruption.” That was the kind of service EPEAK was looking to provide its clients.
IP Workflows
“We see IP workflows as an alternative to legacy networks, offering better performance and reliability, and these workflows represent the future of AV. Netgear can present an example of an AV over IP workflow and depict how it will take the industry to the next level, with greater efficiency, fewer parts, and absolute simplicity,” Henkel stressed.
And what does that mean for clients? “NETGEAR can recommend the proper switch for the application and EPEAK Studio will offer advice on the other equipment. We work in tandem to offer the highest level of connectivity for network users. EPEAK Studio has already mastered their process,” Henkel said. “And with so many possibilities of encoders, decoders, cameras, audio devices, their expertise is unique and respected.”
Henkel’s Praise
Henkel’s praise for EPEAK continued. “As a global service hub for events, marketing and process automation, EPEAK Studio helps save time and reduce operating costs for event organizers. The company produces in-person, virtual, and hybrid events for clients worldwide. Their team is made up of creative, talented, technology experts that can accommodate large-scale projects with great flexibility.”
“Some professionals are hesitant to move away from legacy workflows,“ Henkel acknowledged. “But EPEAK Studio and Netgear have shown that it can be done. We’ve shown that we’re capable of accommodating legacy equipment, like analog microphones, mixers, and loudspeakers that use analog XLR audio, to help AV professionals progressively transition to IP without having to change everything at once.”
Easing transition in an ever changing industry, EPEAK and Netgear come together to help.
